About me

Greetings, fellow Skillologists. My name is Mario and I am the founder and co-producer of Skillology.com. The mission of Skillology is simple -- to inspire creative individuals to produce new media. To accomplish this, we've kicked off our large endeavor by planting a small seed -- this website; by creating an online network that attracts like-minded, ambitious individuals. We are building a tribe of sorts -- a community of influential, sociable, confident, intelligent, tech-savvy, talented professionals who will lead the next generation of new media distribution that positively influences the masses. You didn't think this was just another social networking website, did you? :D

My foray into new media production began nearly 17 years ago, when I was just 13 years old. Inspired by the many creative entrepreneurs in my family, I started my first business, Starks' CompuPrint, and ran all operations out of my bedroom. I offered desktop publishing and graphic design services to family members, neighbors, and eventually other small businesses around my community. When I think back to those days, they were truly the times in my life where I gained the most valuable education that I would rely upon later in life. Since that time, I've amassed a wide range of experience and knowledge related to technology and entrepreneurship. I've observed and studied the evolution of technology and the impact it's having on our capacity to express ourselves and to influence change in our world.

What an interesting journey it's been -- meeting people from all corners of the world, consuming knowledge of all sorts, growing and nurturing endeavors that were once just figments of thy imagination.

Now, 30 years old, I'm blessed to share my knowledge with others, particularly the youth, and to collaborate on a mission dear to my heart with other passionate individuals. I'm so excited about the times we now live. I'm intrigued mostly by the Increased closeness I feel with others across different continents. Never before have we had the ability to connect so immediately, with so many, so geographically dispersed... Never before have we had the power to influence our entire circle of connections with just a few characters and the click of a button. Never before have we been able to express our opinions and affect change so effortlessly... thanks in-part to the advent of the Internet and the continuing innovations in technology.

The consequences of this creative shift unfolding are still materializing. And Skillology intends to be on the cutting edge of this shift, documenting and helping to perpetuate the Age of Creativity -- a renaissance of elevated thought and community.

Stay tuned for more on this... in the meantime, please don't hesitate to drop me some feedback, and please, be sure to tell a friend about this site. PEACE!

Interview

What motivates and inspires you?

I am motivated and inspired principally by Nature. There is just such unprecedented beauty and magnificent complexity within all aspects of Nature, unmatched even by technology. To know that we live in such a world full of remarkable creatures and creations is inspiring indeed. It inspires my life force, which is the root of everything else that I do. I'm also motivated by challenges and opportunities. I'm inspired by individuals who press on optimistically despite obstacles, who move independently, and who fight on behalf for their principles. And let's be real. I like to keep a little change in my pocket too -- that's some low-level but useful motivation, too. ;)

If you were given a trip for the weekend (all-expenses paid), where would you go?

I plan to go to Mali, or Brazil, or Egypt.

What are your favorite things to do in your spare time?

Listening to and making music, reading about astrology, metaphysics, and psychology.
