Ever heard of the term Creative Economy? Personally, I never had until I read an article entitled “Crafting markets for creative entrepreneurs.” Sounds interesting, right? I thought so too, so naturally I began to read the article to see what it was about. The article talks about an economy that consists of Maine workers who are pursuing creative endeavors --- design firms, technology innovators, potters, artists and etc. Currently there are “more than 68,000 Maine workers … engaged in the creative economy.” The economy is small job wise, but it is growing as more efforts are being done to provide opportunities for artisans to take the plunge and move their products into the broader marketplace.
