About me

I am a 22 year old University of Florida graduate currently completing a year long post-baccalaureate program and working to make Monday morning just as exciting (and debt free) as Friday night. Who you are is not reflected by what you do so I believe in making daily deposits in my character account because our mom's warned us best when they said that "money can't buy class." I am not tech saavy but I know I'll always get where I'm going if I use that timeles God Positioning System most of us traded in for our Tom Tom's and blackberry's. Marilyn Monroe said it best when she said "I just want to be wonderful." There's no highway to "wonderful" but I have an ambitious heart with a smile that currently works PR for me while I work out the directions.

My interests

While spoken word is a spectrum of things from deep conversation to rap music I find myself feeling whatever it is that got Def Jam Poetry enough interest for more than 1 season. I don't know if community service is a duty or a hobby but either way I understand my situation could never be the worst. I LOVE music like that no matter how many times he messes up I'll still love him type of love. I'm convinced that if I had to be single forever I'd be talking to food and music until one of them commits. I'm currently on that Proverbs 31 grind so cooking and other self-improvement hobbies have risen to the hobby list. Anything that can keep me smiling and get me laughing is an interest to me.

Interview

What are your favorite things to do in your spare time?

I'm on that California girl free-spirit tip right now so my spare time can go from learning how to stuff pork chops and get my fish and grit recipe just right to going to an outdoor bluegrass concert or listening to Wale and Drake new drops in a t-shirt while I paint my nails. Everyday can offer you something new to do so I just go with whatever the day brings and tomorrow won't take back.

What motivates and inspires you?

Burnt cookies, a college dropout, an unironed button-up, and an unpaved road are all examples of things that could have been great. I'm motivated by the idea that success comes today because yesterday you didn't quit like you wanted to. I'm inspired by builders. Those people that can take 2 sticks and build a building or take scraps from the refrigerator and cook a feast inspire me to understand that greatness does not have any prerequisites but has a lot of obligations. I want to spend life chasing "happy" instead of running from the first and playing hide and go seek with my paycheck and that's inspiration enough.

If you were given a trip for the weekend (all-expenses paid), where would you go?

I would go wherever my friends can afford to go. What is the point of going on a trip alone. I'm so much happier when I'm with the people I love so whether it's a weekend in Miami or a week in the Carribean, I am all for the place where everybody I love is welcome.
